<p>PURPOSE:To provide the process for production of the liquid crystal display device capable of producing the liquid crystal display device having a high contrast ratio without increasing the production process using an intricate mask of high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A photoresist 52 contg. a light shielding material is laminated and formed on a substrate 20 while the photoresist patterns used for patterning of pixel electrodes 28 is made to remain after patterning of nonlinear resistance elements 16 and the pixel electrodes 28 connected thereto is finished. The photoresist 52 contg. the light shielding material is, thereafter, exposed from the substrate side. The photoresist 52 contg. the light shielding material is patterned by using the remaining photoresist patterns for patterning of the pixel electrodes 28. The residue of the photoresist 52 contg. the light shielding material remaining on the periphery of the pixel electrodes 28 is removed by removing the photoresist patterns for the pixel electrodes.</p> |
