The device has a ring (1) and a mount (2) integrated with an inner face of a cavity (5) by friction of a collaret (7). The mount and an optical fiber (3) are integrated with a swaging part of a cavity (9) by friction of a peripheral surface (3b) of the fiber. A cavity (6) of the ring is sufficiently opened so that during assembling, the swaging part allows to fix the fiber with the mount. An independent claim is also included for a method of fixing an optical component in a mount.
