The device has a fuel transfer pump (7) installed in a storage tank (4) to suck fuel (3) through a prefilter (8). A complementary prefilter (43) upstream of the transfer pump is connected in parallel with the prefilter (8). The prefilter (43) is at a greater distance from a bottom of a pot (14) of the tank than the prefilter (8). The prefilter (43) sucks the fuel in a zone away from the bottom of the pot.
