PURPOSE: A Hangeul input apparatus and a method therefor are provided to input an exact word by calculating the connection probability between inputted syllables and displaying a high-probability syllable stream. CONSTITUTION: A Hangeul input apparatus is comprised of a key input part(100), a probability calculation part(200), a memory part(300), and a control part(400). The key input part(100) comprises a plurality of keys, to which consonants and vowels are allocated. The memory part(300) comprises a syllable storage module(310) and a completed syllable storage module(320). The syllable storage module(310) stores syllables, which can be created through the key input part(100), and a generation probability for each of the created syllables. The completed syllable storage module(320) stores completed syllables. The probability calculation part(200) calculates the connection probability of a syllable stream using the generation probabilities stored in the syllable storage module(310). The control part(400) executes control so that the syllable stream can be displayed according to the calculated connection probability.
