PURPOSE: A structure for preventing noise of a support yoke in a steering system is provided to prevent impact noise in contacting the support yoke to the yoke plug by inserting a noise damper, and to reduce rattle noise by restricting up and down movement of the support yoke in the yoke cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A rack bar supporting system comprises a hollow yoke cylinder(5) integrally formed with a rack housing(1) in the rear part of a rack gear(2), a support yoke(6) inserted to the yoke cylinder with sliding and composed of a semicircular groove(6a) contacted to the back of the rack bar, a coil spring(7) mounted in the rear part of the support yoke to contact the support yoke to the rack bar elastically, and a yoke plug(8) thread-connected to the end of the yoke cylinder to support the end of the spring. A couple of mounting grooves(60,80) are formed in the end of the support yoke and the end of the yoke plug, and a noise damper(9) is installed to the mounting grooves.
