PURPOSE: A speed varying device of a power window for a vehicle is provided to open and close the window conveniently with simple operation by maintaining or decelerating the lifting speed of the window according to the diameter of the pulley winding the wire. CONSTITUTION: A motor(12) is driven by operating a window switch(14), and a window(13) is lifted up and down by a pulley(11) of the motor and a wire(10) to open and close the window in a power window system of a vehicle. The diameter of the pulley is adjusted with pneumatic pressure by selectively operating a speed regulating switch(15), and the winding speed of the wire is accelerated or decelerated according to the diameter of the pulley. Tension of the wire is adjusted with an auxiliary motor(16) and an auxiliary pulley(17) to vary the opening speed of the window.
