PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technical document retrieval device capable of clearly specifying a mutual relation among retrieved technical documents. SOLUTION: This technical document retrieval device for retrieving technical documents such as a patent document and a technical article is provided with a retrieval means 12 and a related document extraction means 24 for extracting the information of a reference document quoted in each technical document. The related document extraction means extracts the information of the reference document quoted by the original technical document; the retrieval means retrieves the technical document corresponding to the reference document extracted by the related document extraction means; the related document extraction means extracts the information of the reference document quoted by the technical document retrieved by the retrieval means; and the respective technical documents are displayed so that relations among them can be visually understood by repeating those operations.
