PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compute an accurate power consumption independently of the type of load in an AC voltage control device for supplying stepped-down AC input stepped-down to a prescribed voltage. SOLUTION: This electric power measuring apparatus is provided with a parallel circuit of a rectifying device 11 and a current control means 12 for generating a prescribed and approximately same voltage drop in either straight polarity or negative polarity of the stepped-down AC input; a timer 17 for controlling the switching of as to whether the voltage drop is generated in the stepped-down AC input or not at regular intervals by controlling the current control means 12 of the parallel circuit; a current detection part 15 for detecting a load current passing through the load; and an electric energy computing part 16 for computing electric power computed by the load on the basis of both a current detected by the current detection part 15 and a voltage inputted to the current detection part 15 at the detection of the current.
