PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform grooving of a linear groove such as a range-finding mark, etc. in a state of no burrs and deformation in a metallic mold for forming optical parts. SOLUTION: A cutting tool 11 held by a cutting unit 20 is a forming tool having the same cutting edge as cross section of the groove formed in the metallic mold W to be a workpiece. Grooving of a ruled line of a prescribed pattern is performed by a feed by a five axis synchronous stage 10, while performing a pseudo circular motion by vibration of a two axial direction by two actuators 21a and 21b. Since the grooving is performed by vibrating the actuators 21a and 21b in the feed direction by cutting a target depth from an end part of the ruled line, the grooving with high accuracy is performed by suppressing generation of burrs, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
