The present invention relates to an electrophoretic device in the form of a casing having inside sealed spaces isolated by an electrophoretic carrier, wherein the device comprises at least one liquid injection/discharge opening, communicable with the outside, on the outer wall of said sealed spaces, and an electrophoretic method and a specimen detection method using the device. Additionally, the present invention relates to an electrophoresis apparatus having a structure for sandwiching the electrophoretic carrier between a pair of electrodes, and having a space capable of holding liquid between the sandwiched electrophoretic carrier and the respective electrodes, and to an electrophoretic method using the same device.
