A sensing means (1), e.g. a camera, senses the situation of an article or a moving body including a person in a living space such as home. An article managing/operating server (2) manages the attribute information, including the current position and the operator, of each article in an article database (3) based on information from the sensing means (1). The server (2) receives an instruction of a user inputted from an operating means (4), converts the instruction into a control command with reference to the article database (3) and transmits the control command to a life assisting robot (5).
