On a disk substrate (4), recessed grooves (6a, 6b) are formed in the inner and outer peripheral boundaries of a coat region for forming an ink jet printing-use receptive layer (5). The recessed grooves (6a, 6b) are substantially V-shaped in cross-section, the depth (d) being equal to or greater than the thickness of a coating film in the central region (6c) between the recessed grooves. A plurality of nozzles (27a-27h) for a supply means (25) are radially arranged in the central region between the recessed grooves (6a, 6b) and are supplied with a coating liquid in a substantially constant amount per unit area to form a coating film of predetermined thickness. The allocations of the coating liquid used for coating are mutually flattened by leveling. During drying, the coating films in the recessed grooves (6a, 6b) substantially simultaneously dry and contract without drying earlier than the coating film on the central region (6c), so that the receptive layer (5) with a constant film thickness can be formed over the entire central region.
