PURPOSE: A network device having an Internet line assignment control function and a method for controlling Internet line assignment are provided to add various services to a DHCP(Dynamic Host Control Protocol) server by inter-working the DHCP server with a database and inter-working the DHCP server with routers different in transmission speed. CONSTITUTION: A database module stores terminal device information and user information corresponding to the terminal device information. A user confirmation module receives a message asking IP address assignment from a terminal device, and searches for the terminal device information related to the terminal device requesting the IP address assignment. A line connecting module(300) provides a plurality of Internet lines distinguished by line transmission speed to a user(320) in the case that the terminal device information exist related to the terminal device requesting the IP address assignment, and assigns Internet lines according to selection of the user(320).
