PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encipher/decipher video/audio stream data when necessary and transfer the data at a high speed to record and reproduce it. SOLUTION: A bridge circuit 130 is provided separately from a transfer route of control information, and the bridge circuit 130 has a HOST-I/F 131A and a PVR-IF 131B directly connected to a HOST-CPU on the digital broadcast receiver side and a PVR-CPU on the image/audio stream recording and reproducing device side respectively and preserves data from the HOST-CPU and the PVR-CPU in a HOST write FIFO 132A and a PVR write FIFO 132B respectively to read out the data to FIFOs and controls a PVR selector 134B and a HOST selector 134A by an encryption control signal 31 to output read data 32A and 32B or data 35A and 35B enciphered/deciphered by an encryption processing module 140 to a PVR read FIFO 133B and a HOST read FIFO 133A by switching and performs burst transfer to the PVR-CPU and the HOST-CPU.
