PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that when a foreign matter remains in a display panel of an FED (Field Emission Display) at a manufacturing process, discharge tends to occur there at driving. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the FED comprises a first dry cleaning process F12 dry-cleaning a cathode base plate made at a cathode base plate making process F11, a second dry cleaning process F22 dry-cleaning an anode base plate made at an anode base plate making process F21, a spacer-mounting process F23 mounting a spacer on a first panel base plate, a third dry cleaning process F24 dry-cleaning the anode base plate after mounting the spacer, and a base-plate-bonding process F31 bonding the dry-cleaned first panel base plate with a second panel base plate through the spacer.
