PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device suitable when a recording/playing-back system using for a music is extended to the use for the data recording/reproducing operation, and also to provide a reproducing device. SOLUTION: This recording device is adaptable to a recording medium whereon the control information for controlling the recording/reproducing of the data is recorded. When a data file is recorded on the recording medium, an identification code showing the control information for the data file control is recorded on a prescribed area in the control information at the recording or rewriting time of the control information for controlling this data file.
