PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage measuring apparatus and a voltage measuring method for reducing time for measuring voltage by stopping the terminal voltage measurement of a universal battery when using an exclusive battery and using an adaptor. SOLUTION: A controller 4 only measures the voltage of an AC adaptor 703 without measuring the voltage of a battery 702 by the universal battery when it is judged that the AC adaptor 703 is connected, based on the detection result by each connection detection means. Additionally, the controller 4 only measures the voltage of a battery 701 without measuring the voltage of the battery 702 by the universal battery when it is determined that the battery 701 by the exclusive battery is used, based on the detection result by each connection detection means.
