PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily join a heat insulating material to a piping member in a short time when joining the heat insulating material to the piping member for a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: A pair of piping members 11A and 11B to be connected to a tank part of an evaporator is conveyed to a heating furnace in a state with a first joint member 13 and a second joint member 15 temporarily attached to both ends to carry out brazing. In the pair of piping members 11A and 11B carried out of the heating furnace, when an insulator 17 is inserted from a second joint member 15 side right after brazing, since the insulator 17 is formed so that it contracts by heat, and the pair of piping members 11A and 11B and the second joint member 15 hold remaining from brazing, the insulator 17 is immediately contracted, and it is joined so that it is adhered to the pair of piping members 11A and 11B and the second joint member 15.
