PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating an aqueous pressure-sensitive adhesive comprising an aqueous emulsion as a main component and additives such as a plasticizer, a thickener, a surface tension-reducing agent, a defoaming agent, a tackifier and the like as auxiliary components on a release paper at a coating speed ranging from a low speed to a high speed wherein there is no occurrence of cissing on the release paper when coated at a low speed and the aqueous pressure-sensitive adhesive can be coated with stability and uniformity when the coating speed is enhanced. SOLUTION: An aqueous pressure-sensitive adhesive composition provides a value of viscoelastic characteristics of the aqueous pressure-sensitive adhesive such that a complex viscosity at 1 Hz as measured under the conditions of a displacement of 0.0001 radian and 20°C is adjusted to 0.1-90.0 Pa s and a maximum value of a storage modulus of elasticity G' at 1-100 Hz as measured under the condition of a displacement of 0.0001 radian and 20°C is adjusted to 30.0-1,500.0 Pa.
