PHOTOCATALYTIC COATING MATERIAL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a photocatalytic coating film free from the peeling of the coating film even by thick coating and exhibiting excellent photocatalytic activity. SOLUTION: The subject photocatalytic coating composition contains a photocatalytic dispersion toner, a mixed solution of water/isopropanol/ethylene glycol monobutyl ether and an inorganic binder. The inorganic binder is produced by dispersing 40-70 mass% silica and 30-60 mass% (solid-basis) organohydroxysilane and a partial condensation product of organohydroxysilane in a mixture of water/isopropanol/ethylene glycol monobutyl ether. A molecular cluster composed of a colloidal silica nucleus and the organohydroxysilane and a partial condensation product of organohydroxysilane bonded to the nucleus is controlled to have a structure composed of≤3% component having -47 ppm chemical shift, 15-25% component of -56 ppm chemical shift, 15-25% component of -65 ppm chemical shift and the remaining part of -110 ppm chemical shift determined by29Si-NMR measurement.
