METHOD OF WORKING BY INTRODUCING LARGE STRAIN AND CALIBER ROLLING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize introduction of large strain over the whole area of a cross section of a material especially in the center of the material by clarifying the influence of a strain distribution introduced in one pass on the strain distribution and shape in the next pass. SOLUTION: In a method of working by introducing large strain, a material is rolled by using a flat-shaped caliber in the first pass and continuously a square-shaped caliber in the second pass in caliber rolling of continuous two or more passes. The large strain is introduced by performing rolling with the use of the caliber in which the ratio Ao1/Aoof the minor axis 2Ao1of the flat caliber in the first pass to the dimension 2Aoof the opposite side of a base stock is≤0.7 and the caliber in which the ratio As1/B1of the vertical diagonal dimension 2As1in the second pass to the major axis 2B1of the material after the first pass is≤0.75.
