<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide convenience to a user who does not grasp the usage method of a data carrier, while making it convenient for users who use the data carrier. <P>SOLUTION: A vending machine receives presentation of the data carrier from the user, when selling goods, determines propriety of sales on the basis of attribute information included in the data carrier, and settles the price of the goods by money value of the data carrier. The vending machine receives selection of the goods as first operation, receives the presentation of the data carrier after the selection goods, determines the propriety on the attribute information and money information extracted from the presented data carrier, and processes a procedure for rewriting of the money information of the data carrier as a normal procedure.
