PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a silent period of time when the power is on in an audio player provided with a mass storage device. SOLUTION: A music file read from the mass storage device (HDD) 11 is stored in a nonvolatile memory 16, music is played-back on the basis of music data of the music file stored in the nonvolatile memory, a play-back start position for the next time when the power is turned on is stored when the power is turned off, and when the power is turned on, the music file stored in the nonvolatile memory is started to be played-back from the stored play-back position.
