PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anomaly detection system and an anomaly detecting method for detecting anomalies that occur upon a measurement of an objective component in a specimen. SOLUTION: This anomaly detection system detects anomalies in time-series data on photometric values obtained by optically measuring a mixture made by mixing one or more kinds of reagents with the specimen, the reagents being used for measuring the concentration or activity value of the objective component in the specimen. This detection system is equipped with a reference time-series data storage means to be stored with, as reference time-series data, time-series data corresponding to a chemical reaction model when the analysis of the specimen is normally executed, and an anomaly determination means 112 for comparing the time-series data with the reference time-series data to determine whether analysis anomalies exists or not on the specimen.
