PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for a front wheel for riding over steps, an apparatus for a rear wheel for riding over steps, and an apparatus for preventing a backward movement, which can be easily attached to a commercial wheelchair and the like. SOLUTION: The apparatus for the front wheel for riding over steps 10 that moves downward against a rotating support of a lower leg along with a rotation of the lower leg caused by an epicyclic gear 13 fixed on the lower leg at the front part of the front wheel; the apparatus for the rear wheel for riding over steps 20 that pushes the wheelchair forward while the rear part of the wheelchair is levered up with a lift bar 23 when an arm 22 is rotated upward; and the apparatus for preventing a backward movement 30 switching a tab 32 and an eccentric cam with an operation lever 36 are selected as necessary to be mounted on the wheelchair. The tab 32 locks the rear wheel, locks it for a backward direction but frees it for a forward direction, or frees it both for forward and backward directions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
