Testing method for electric machine, e.g. car generator, driven by car engine and coupled in car network to battery and control appliance, by which measured values of battery current during time period

Testing method is intended mainly for car generator (14), driven by car engine (10) and coupled in car network to battery (13) and control appliance (15). Without time interval measured values of battery current are detected and stored. From stored measured values is computed course of generator current, which is then compared, in time interval, with presettable rated course, with comparison tested for plausibility. Preferably gradient of generator current is computed from measured battery current and compared with presettable gradient.
