Inductive position measurement device has a twin coil arrangement for detecting the movement of a magnetic position signaler. The coil arrangement is expanded to from an electrical oscillation circuit, while the supply part of a supply evaluation unit applies a voltage impulse to the coil arrangement so that the evaluation unit can evaluate the time response of the output voltage (delta U1) to the input voltage impulse. An independent claim is made for a method for inductively determining the position of a moving component with an attached magnetic signaler.
