Dry manure and wet manure are separated. Solid components of the dry manure are separated by an upper sieve (11) and are accumulated in a receptacle (5). Solid components of the wet manure are separated by a lower sieve (10) and pressed by a pressing device (6) to extract liquid component which is accumulated in a tank (7). The rest of the wet manure is sent back to the stable. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for cleaning horse cages.
