<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cogeneration system carrying out optimal operation by trial calculating an operation control schedule with greatest reduction in fuel usage fee based on stored operation control schedule. <P>SOLUTION: The cogeneration system generates electricity and heat by a fuel cell unit (cogeneration device) 10, feeds the electricity to commercial power source 1, outputs to an electrical appliance 5 as well as outputting the heat to a heating appliance 6. The system is provided with a control device 15 operating and controlling a fuel cell unit by changing over the state of operation by time zones, a storing means 21 for the operation control schedule, and a calculating means 22 to calculate the reduced amount of the fee, etc., of the used fuel. Calculation on trial of the operation control schedule is carried out by the calculation means so that the reduced amount, etc., is made great based on the operation control schedule stored in the storing means.
