<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent air from being mixed into a cooling medium circulation passage. <P>SOLUTION: This cooling device of a fuel cell is provided with: the fuel cell 1; a cooling heat exchanger 2; the circulation passage for circulating a cooling medium from the exit of the fuel cell 1 to the entrance of the fuel cell through the heat exchanger 2 for cooling the cooling medium heated by cooling of the fuel cell; and a tank connected to an air pressure signal pipe for introducing a part of air supplied to the fuel cell 1 or a part of air exhausted from the fuel cell, and to a pipe for introducing a part of the cooling medium in the circulation passage, and capable of storing a part of the cooling medium. The device has: quantity of a cooling medium detection means for detecting a cooling medium quantity in the tank; and an air pressure control means 5 for controlling pressure of the air supplied to the fuel cell 1 or the air exhausted from the fuel cell 1.
