PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital video camera which is capable of reproducing sound having already been recorded during photographing without the need for a separate sound reproducing apparatus. SOLUTION: The hard disk 16 of the digital video camera records a video signal from an imaging section 8 and a sound signal from a sound collection section 1 via a hard disk controller 15, and a video display section 12 and sound output sections 41, 42 reproduce the video signal and the sound signal recorded on the hard disk 16 via the hard disk controller 15. The digital video camera is further provided with a storage means 19 for reproducing and storing the sound signal which has already been recorded on the hard disk 16 via the hard disk controller 15. By using the hard disk controller 15 and the hard disk 16 in time division, the sound output section 42 reproduces the sound signal stored in the storage means 19 during photographing with the imaging section 8.
