PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resume remote copy between storage control units which are arranged in N sites, mainly in three or more sites, by quickly and automatically reconstituting remote copy constitution between residual sites after an arbitrary site has suffered from calamity. SOLUTION: The information of the remote copy target volume of a storage device system 2 whose original volume V1 is the same is preliminarily registered for each remote copy target volume. When the failure of the copy original storage device system 2 occurs, the copy original volume of the remote copy target volume with the storage device system 2 where any failure occurs origin of copy is selected from newly registered copy original volumes, and remote copy is resumed.
