PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently reduce the uneven charging of a photoreceptor. SOLUTION: As a charging roller 15, one that has a time constantτof equal to or longer than 0.09 sec but equal to or shorter than 0.2 sec when the charging roller 15 is rotated at a practical speed is used. The practical speed is a rotating speed in which the peripheral speed of the charging roller 15 is approximately 100 to 250 mm/s, for example, 133 mm/s. This stabilizes electrifying a photoreceptor drum 11 with the charging roller 15 and sufficiently reduces ununiform electrification of the photoreceptor drum 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
