COATED OPTICAL FIBER AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber on which an appropriate display section is printed without increasing transmission loss of the coated optical fiber by ink or without increasing bending loss and to provide a manufacturing method of the coated optical fiber. SOLUTION: The coated optical fiber 10 is provided with a primary coating 12, a secondary coating 14 which is formed on the surface of the primary coating 12 and a display section 13 which is formed by printing on the surface of the primary coating 12. The secondary coating 14 is arranged at least covering the display section 13 and made of a material so that the display section 13 is observed from the outside. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
