PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper arm device capable of precluding an undeliberate lockback while the lockback operation is secured. SOLUTION: The wiper arm device is equipped with an arm head 12 reciprocated by a wiper shaft 11, an arm shank 20 whose base end is supported rotatably by the arm head 12, and a spring 30 whose base end hook part 34 is engaged with the arm head 12 and forefront hook part 31 is engaged with the arm shank 20. A pair of abutting parts 24 abutting to a bent part 33 of the spring 30 on the way of arm shank 20 rotation relative to the arm head 12 are formed in zigzag arrangement on the side faces of a runoff groove 23 in the arm shank 20. As the spring does not get over the abutting part only with the buoyancy of a lateral wind etc., no lockback is made undeliberately when the bent part abuts to the abutting part of the arm shank even if the arm shank is levitated, but it is returned to the original position by the repulsive force of the spring.
