PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of and a device for forming a bead using a bead wire in one bundle in which an extruder can be downsized to be installed in a narrow space, worker's workability can significantly be improved, and thus cost can be reduced. SOLUTION: This bead forming device is provided in series with: a wire unwinding means 1 having a guide roller 1a for preventing the curling of a wire W; a heating means 9 for heating the wire W to a predetermined temperature; an extruder 3a in which an extrusion head 4a for coating the heated wire W with a prescribed amount of rubber is arranged to face a worker's side; a control means 11 for feedback-controlling the temperature of the wire heated by the heating means 9 while regularly measuring the diameter of the rubber coated on the wire W by an outer diameter-measuring sensor 10 so that the outer diameter of the coated rubber is always the same; a bead forming process 6 for forming a rubber-coated wire Wa; and a winding apparatus 8 for automatically winding a binding string unwound from a rolled string unwinding apparatus 7 onto a wire terminal portion to fix it.
