PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating apparatus which can prevent the lowering of the insulation performance of a voltage blocking function and curtail a washing time. SOLUTION: The coating apparatus 1 has a coating gun 10 to which a high voltage is applied, a coating hose 20 which leads coating to the coating gun 10, a first washing valve mechanism 30 which washes the coating gun 10 and the coating hose 20, a coating extruder 40 which supplies a quantitative amount of the coating to the coating gun 10 through the hose 20, a coating injection machine 50 and a color change valve unit 60 which inject and pack the coating into the extruder 40, and a second washing valve mechanism 70 which washes the coating extruder 40 and the coating injection machine 50. After the coating gun 10 and the coating hose 20 are washed, the ventilation air valve 33 of the first washing valve mechanism 30 is opened. After the coating extruder 40 and the coating injection machine 50 are washed, the ventilation air valve 73 of the second washing valve mechanism 70 is opened. Ventilation air is passed through first and second pathways 100 and 200 to prevent the leakage of an electric current by the vapor of the washing liquid left in the pathways 100 and 200.
