PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which can give information on the length capable of sewing the continuous pattern. SOLUTION: The sewing machine is constituted as follows. Data of a reference bobbin thread required amount of the continuous pattern are stored in a pattern data storage means 1. The data of the reference bobbin thread required amount is corrected by a means 7 for correcting the reference bobbin thread required amount. After that, the length capable of sewing is calculated on the basis of the data of the reference bobbin thread required amount and the residual amount of the bobbin thread from a means 8 for detecting the residual amount of the bobbin thread in a means 10 for calculating the length capable of sewing.
