<p>A heart treatment apparatus by which preventive therapy after an antitachycardic treatment can be controlled to thereby prevent and treat fatal arrhythmia. In this apparatus, a means of preventing tachycardia and a means of treating tachycardia (a means of stopping tachycardia) are controlled based on the results of the detection of tachycardia, thereby performing an antitachycardic therapy. In this antitachycardic therapy, an electrical shock such as cardioversion or defibrillation is given to the heart and then an activation current for vagal nerve or a suppression current for sympathetic nerve is lowered or stopped. Due to this mechanism, it is possible to prevent worsening in blood flow dynamics, recurrence of fatal arrhythmia or induction of superventricular arrhythmia such as ventricular fibrillation can be prevented.</p> |
