<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a vehicle behavior requested by the driver at all times irrespective of the road surface condition. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle driving device is composed of a wheel driving mechanism A having a drive source and capable of driving a vehicle, a left/right wheel driving mechanism B equipped with at least one electric motor and to serve in changing-over mechanically between two conditions according to the vehicle speed, one condition 1 in which torques are generated on the left and right wheels to drive the vehicle and make a regenerative braking and the other condition 2 in which oppositely directed torques of the same magnitude are generated on the right wheel and the left wheel for assisting the turn of the vehicle, a road surface frictional condition presuming means to presume the frictional condition of the road surface, a condition judging means to judge which can better stabilize the vehicle behavior, the condition 1 or 2, on the basis of the frictional condition presuming means, and a means to change over between the conditions 1 and 2 of the wheel driving mechanism B according to the judging result of the condition judging means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
