PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to act as a host or a device by changing a set function by a function switching request without distinguishing the host and the device. SOLUTION: The host 11 is provided with a device function in addition to a host function and the device 13 is provided with the host function in addition to the device function. The host 11 is provided with a device driver 112 which periodically inquires the existence of a data transfer request to the device 13, acquires a set function from the device 13 in accordance with the inquired result, determines whether the change of the set function is necessary or not, and when the change of the set function is necessary, generates a function switching request to the device 13.
