PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake control device for a vehicle capable of arbitrarily generating adequate braking force according to the relative relationship to a forward body even when a subject vehicle is in traction. SOLUTION: It is determined whether or not a subject vehicle is in traction, and when the tension T on a traction hook 6 of the subject vehicle is detected, and the tension T on the traction hook 6 is zero while the subject vehicle is in traction (when the determination in Step S8 is "Yes"), the braking force is easily generated by increasing the threshold D<SB>L</SB>to generate the braking force in a brake actuator 11 based on the relative relationship to a vehicle in traction (Step S9).
