<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell stack with low cost and excellent power generating efficiency by uniforming partial pressure of fuel gas and oxidant gas in a gas diffusion layer while using the gas diffusion layer with uniform porosity and thickness as it is. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell stack includes a laminated body laminating a plurality of unit cells equipped with a hydrogen ion conductive polymer electrolyte film; an anode and a cathode having a catalyst layer and a gas diffusion layer interposing the electrolyte film; an anode-side separator having a gas flow channel supplying the anode with fuel gas, a supply port and a vent; and a cathode-side separator having a gas flow channel supplying the cathode with oxidant gas, a supply port and a vent as well as a pair of end plates compressing the laminated body in a laminated direction; with a thickness of each gas diffusion layer of the anode and the cathode continuously changed from the supply port side to the vent side of the anode-side and the cathode-side separators. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
