<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a right- and left-wheel driving gear for a vehicle that can obtain full turning assist. <P>SOLUTION: This right- and left-wheel driving gear for a vehicle, which is provided with at least one electric motor, mechanically changes over two states, according to vehicle velocity and the amount of steering; and a condition 1, in which the vehicle is driven and regenerative braking is applied by generating torque in the same direction in both right-side and left-side wheels and a condition 2, in which the turning of the vehicle is assisted by generating torque in a reverse direction in the right-side and left-side wheels. In this driving gear, a turning-assist shift predicting means is provided that predicts, in advance, a condition in which the turning assist should be performed.
