<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a mark highly precisely based on a picked-up image. <P>SOLUTION: Within the light which a light source 14 emits, a part of light which is made incident into a luminous region 12 passes through the luminous region 12 and reaches a gun-type controller, but another part of light which is made incident into a nonluminous region 13 is blocked by the nonluminous region 13 and does not reach the gun-type controller.
