ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSMISSION STREAM RECEIVER OF DIGITAL BROADCAST RECEIVING SYSTEM EMPLOYING DVB-ASI MODE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING ASYNCHRONOUS TRANSPORT STREAM THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asynchronous transmission stream receiver which can process a MPEG-2 data regardless of a SD or HD class compression condition of the MPEG-2 data transmitted according to the DVB-ASI standard.

SOLUTION: The asynchronous transmission stream receiver comprises a FIFO 26 which stores the MPEG-2 data generated from the DVB-ASI signals, an oscillator 14 which generates clock signals for producing the MPEG-2 data from the DVB-ASI signals, and a read controller 27 which reads and outputs the MPEG-2 data stored in the FIFO in synchronism with the clock signals of the oscillator. The read controller comprises a PLL 28 which divides the clock signal of the oscillator, a comparator which detects a synchronous byte of the MPEG-2 data, a counter which counts the MPEG-2 data in a packet unit, a MPEG-2 data condition determining part which checks the synchronous byte (0x47) by the comparator and the counter and determines the condition (valid) of the MPEG-2 data outputted from the FIFO.
