PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of detecting the presence of a mobile body without the need for complicated signal processing, also detecting a prescribed operating state of the mobile body, outputting a signal denoting the prescribed operating state of the mobile body and taking into account privacy protection. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus A includes a solid-state imaging device 10 capable of outputting a mobile body extracting imaging signal and a control circuit 40 for measuring a tailing length on the basis of the movement of the mobile body in an image imaged by the device 10 and generating a prescribed control signal when the tailing length is greater than a prescribed setting value, and the imaging apparatus B includes the imaging device 10 and a control circuit 40' for measuring a change in a signal output from a prescribed pixel as to the prescribed pixels including the pixel for outputting the mobile body extracting imaging signal whose level exceeds at least one of prescribed upper and lower thresholds 1, 2 among the mobile body extract imaging signals from the device 10 and generating a prescribed control signal when a signal output change matches the prescribed pattern.
