PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a shading correction coefficient in real time at the time of photography every time and to perform shading correction with high precision corresponding to environmental variation. SOLUTION: This shading correction circuit of an electronic camera is provided with an image pickup device 1 on the light receiving surface of which light receiving elements are arranged and a shading correction part 3 which performs the shading correction to an output signal of the image pickup device, the image pickup device 1 has a valid pixel region for generating an image signal by performing photoelectric conversion to an object image and a horizontal optical black part formed along the horizontal direction of the valid pixel region, the shading correction part 3 has a correction coefficient generation part 11 which extracts shading variation based on output of the horizontal optical black part and generates the correction coefficient of the shading variation and a correction processing part 12 which performs the shading correction to the image signal by using the correction coefficient.
