PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct image signals of predetermined lines using an offset quantity calculated from the image signals of the predetermined lines. SOLUTION: This image reading device is provided with an image sensor 50 for reading the image signals of an image original to convert the signals into analog signals; an analog signal processor 60 including an AD converter 64 for converting the analog signals outputted from the image sensor 50 into digital signals; and an image signal processor 70 for calculating, from the digital signals outputted from the log signal processing section 60, an offset quantity from a target level at each of main scanning directional lines of the image signals to add the offset quantity to, or subtract the same from, the digital signals of the lines whose offset quantity has been calculated.
