PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently search channels in a digital broadcast receiver capable of receiving both terrestrial analog broadcasting and terrestrial digital broadcasting. SOLUTION: In the digital broadcast receiver capable of receiving both terrestrial analog broadcasting and terrestrial digital broadcasting, channel search of terrestrial analog broadcasting and that of terrestrial digital broadcasting are simultaneously executed, and frequency scan of channels which can be already received, of terrestrial analog broadcasting is skipped when executing channel search of terrestrial digital broadcasting.
